FG Injects ₦16.6b into Breakwaters Rehabilitation

The federal government has completed the rehabilitation of the East and West Moles (breakwaters) in Lagos at the cost of ₦16.6 billion, the Minister of Transport, Senator Idris Umar, has said.

Among several other navigational roles, the two moles prevent surging waters of the Atlantic Ocean from flooding Lagos Island.

The rehabilitation work, according to the Minister, was executed by China Civil Engineering Construction Company (CCECC) while Royal Haskoning and Yolas Consultants served as foreign and local consultants to the project respectively.
