Gombe State Government realised between 75 per cent and 80 per cent of the N6 billion it targeted as Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) for 2015.
Muazu Atiku, Chairman, Board of Internal Revenue, made the disclosure on Tuesday in Gombe while speaking with newsmen.
He said that target was realised between January and October.
Atiku said that the government realised more revenue this year with the assistance of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).
He said that the intervention of the NLC through enlightenment and sensitisation of the various trade unions in the state helped to boost IGR.
He said that as part of its efforts to generate more revenue, the government registered no fewer than 4, 100 commercial motorcycles (Okada) operators and 1,423 commercial tricycles operators.
Atiku said that the various development projects embarked upon by the government opened up the economy and encouraged the more people to pay their taxes as at when due.
The chairman commended tax payers and the labour union for their contributions to the development of the state.
